4th of July Entertaining: Chef Takes a Shortcut

Fourth of July is supposed to be a fun holiday spent out doors with good company and good food. But we all know sometimes it turns into more work than anticipated and you’re exhausted before the party even begins. If your entertaining and don’t want to spend all day in the kitchen preparing- I’m here to help. Believe it or not, but chef’s take shortcuts too! Marinating poultry and meat 24 to 48 hours before you cook it is one of the best tricks to good flavor and saving time. One of my favorite sauces to use is Bone Suchin’ Sauce. This BBQ style sauce comes in original, hot, and my favorite thick and it’s the perfect time saver. I love marinating chicken in the sauce the day before and then throwing it on the grill. The spices penetrate the chicken better when marinated overnight, versus just brushing it on top. Your guests are going to think you slaved all day over that chicken when they bite into it and guess what- that’s just fine by me- more time to kick back and enjoy. Short cuts should come to the rescue but never compromise on flavor- Happy 4th all!
